Privacy notice
This notice explains how Nxt Launch Technologies Uganda Ltd ("Nxt Launch", "we") handles personal data on this website and in nxtPay, in line with Uganda's Data Protection and Privacy Act, 2019.
What we collect
- Website enquiries: name, email, phone, organisation and your message.
- nxtPay shoppers: phone number, name, national ID number (stored encrypted, for identity checks), the mobile money statement you choose to upload (to check eligibility for a credit limit), plans, payments, delivery details, ratings you leave, support tickets you open, a profile photo if you add one (private: only you can see it), and photos you choose to attach to a return or problem report.
- nxtPay merchants: business registration, tax and licence details, owner identity, payout account, sales.
- On your phone (the nxtPay app): the camera only when you scan a shop's QR code or take a profile photo; your photos only when you pick one; fingerprint or Face ID only if you turn on the app lock (checked by your phone; nxtPay never receives it); your location only to show nearby shops (not stored); crash reports that contain no names, phone numbers or payment details.
Why we use it
- To provide nxtPay: identity checks, credit decisions with licensed credit partners, payments, delivery, returns, ratings and support.
- To meet legal duties (financial records, tax, anti-fraud).
- To answer enquiries sent through this website.
Who we share it with
Licensed credit partners (for credit decisions and the credit they provide; they receive the totals from your statement, not the statement itself, and only after you agree), identity-verification providers (to confirm your national ID), payment providers (to move money), couriers (to deliver), and authorities where the law requires. We don't sell personal data and don't use it for advertising.
How we protect it
Data is encrypted in transit; national ID numbers are also encrypted at rest. Documents and photos are kept in private storage. Staff access is limited by role and needs two-step sign-in, and sensitive views are logged.
How long we keep it
Only as long as needed. Financial records are kept for the period the law requires; when an account is deleted, personal details are removed and remaining records are kept in anonymised form.
Deleting your nxtPay account
In the nxtPay app go to Profile → Account → Phone number and account, or email business@nxtlaunch.tech from your registered details. Accounts with an open plan or order can be deleted once those are finished. We remove your name, phone number, ID, PIN and photos; records of past purchases, credit and payments are kept without your details for as long as financial law requires.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete your personal data, or object to its use. Email business@nxtlaunch.tech.
