5 habits that grow your nxtPay credit limit
Your limit isn't fixed. Here's what moves it up, and what holds it back.

When you join nxtPay, a licensed credit partner gives you a starting credit limit. That limit can grow. Lenders raise limits for people who show, month after month, that they use credit well. These five habits make the biggest difference.
1. Pay every instalment on time
This matters more than anything else. Each pay-in-4 plan has a payment today and three weekly payments after. Paying each one by its due day is the clearest sign you can give a lender.
If something comes up, you have a 3-day grace period, and we remind you before and on the due day. After the grace period the payment is overdue, and while it stays overdue you can’t start a new pay-in-4 plan (paying in full still works).
Tip: Pay as soon as the MoMo prompt arrives. You can also pay a plan off early from Wallet at any time.
2. Finish what you start
Every plan you complete adds to your track record. Two or three finished plans say more about you than one big purchase.
3. Don’t use all your credit at once
Using part of your limit, not all of it, shows you’re in control. If your limit is UGX 1,000,000, spreading purchases out over time looks better than using the whole amount on day one.
4. Keep one mobile money number
Your mobile money history is part of how lenders understand you. Changing numbers often makes that history harder to read. If you must change, you can move your account to a new number in the app.
5. Show your full income
Your credit limit starts from your mobile money statement: how long you’ve had the line, how much money comes in, and how steady it is. Lenders can’t offer more than about 30% of what comes in each month. If you use both MTN and Airtel, sharing both shows your full picture.
When you’re ready
Once you’ve paid on time for a while, tap Ask for more credit in Wallet. Your lender reviews it, usually within a day.
