What is the nxtPay Trust score?
A simple 0–100 score that shows how well you use credit, and how to raise it. Coming soon to the app.

We’re adding a Trust score to the nxtPay app: one number from 0 to 100 that shows how reliably you use credit, with tips to raise it. Here’s how it will work.
Everyone starts at 50
New to credit? You start in the middle, at “Getting started”, not at zero. Your mobile money statement moves you up or down from there.
What counts
- Paying on time: the biggest part. Paying within the grace period still counts for most of it.
- Steady money coming in on MTN and Airtel, including money from family.
- Bills paid by mobile money, like Yaka, water and school fees.
- Plans you’ve finished.
- How much of your credit you use. Less is better.
- How long you’ve been with nxtPay on the same number.
What never counts
We never read your contacts, text messages, call logs or location. Your score belongs to you, through your National ID, not to your phone.
Tight months happen
The score looks at the last 90 days, so one hard month (school fees, a slow season) doesn’t undo months of good habits.
Tip: Your credit partner decides your limit. The Trust score helps them, and you, see your progress, and it’s only shared with your agreement.
